October 2026 · In plain numbers

13.6 lakh views in one month — how it happened, and what it means.

In October 2026 I shared short Hindi family comedy stories on Instagram (@ashwarya_guptaaa), written by me and performed onstage by my digital avatar. Here is the honest breakdown of what worked, who watched, and where the limits are.

Why I quote the smaller number

Instagram shows two different view totals depending on where you look, so I use the more conservative one. Meta’s Edits app counts 1.36M organic Reel views (13.6 लाख) for Oct 1–30, 2026. The account-wide daily counter sums to 2.79M across the same days because it includes repeat views, older videos, and Stories.

How each story is made

The moment

Written by me

Every story starts with a real moment at home — the missed call, the blue tick, “text me when you reach”.

The words

Written by me

I choose the turn, the warmth, and every final word of the Hindi script before a clip is made.

The stage

Digital avatar

Because I work full-time during the day, my digital stage avatar performs the 20-second stories in a virtual theatre.

The cut

Edited by hand

Weak lines are cut, Hindi captions are timed word by word, and sound is balanced for phone speakers.

What people wrote in the comments

Real public comments under the Reels, with usernames removed for privacy. Out of 218 comments saved at the end of October, viewers talked almost entirely about their own mothers, fathers, and children living away from home.

Tumko kya pata lala…

What would you know, dear… when a piece of your heart lives far away and doesn’t pick up or reply — what a mother goes through. May God keep every son safe.

(Just hearing a faraway child is okay brings so much peace.)

Son, it took a while — but you do understand your mother. That is a big thing.

Aap achhey bachhey ho… mai to dari dari rahti hu… apni dono betiyo se… ki ek bar bat ker ley, ek bar milney aa jaye

You’re a good child… I live a little afraid… asking my two daughters to just talk to me once, to come and see me once.

— viewer comment on The Blue Tick

So true — a mother knows everything from her child’s voice.

— viewer comment on A Full Check-up From One Hello

At least this gave us a reason to talk about Maa today… you can find lines about a mother anywhere — to laugh, and to make others laugh.

No one is greater than Papa.

My reply: पापा की छोटी-छोटी बातों में कितना अपनापन छुपा होता है ❤️ (So much belonging hides in Papa’s little habits.)

Keeping the numbers honest

  • All figures come directly from Instagram Insights and Meta Edits; they have not been audited by an outside party.
  • Views are not people: 13.6 lakh (1.36M) views came from 5.06 lakh distinct accounts, since one person can watch more than once.
  • Three breakout stories did most of the heavy lifting: out of 96 Reels published in October, the top three accounted for 61% of lifetime views.
  • Because 99.1% of views came from people who did not follow me yet, Instagram recommendations drove the reach — there is no guarantee next month looks the same.
  • Audience age, gender, and city figures are Instagram’s estimates, not verified IDs.
  • Views arrive much faster than followers: gaining ~1,500 followers from 13.6 lakh views is a healthy reminder that a laugh is easier to earn than a habit.
